Some Weeks Give You Clarity
Some weeks give you clarity. This past week did.
The business is moving and the events are becoming real. Connections Night is next week. Speed Dating is the week after. We are working with some of the best people in the area, and the momentum behind Onward Upward Sports & Events is showing up where it counts: in real rooms, with real people, and real energy.
That matters to me. An event is never just about filling a room. It is about how people feel when they walk into it.
This week reminded me how much that matters.
In business, in dating, in nightlife, in community, how people are treated is everything. People should be able to show up, have a good time, meet someone new, and feel respected while they do it.
Dating is no different.
A yes deserves respect. A no deserves respect. The courage it takes to put yourself out there deserves respect too. Nobody should be mocked, dismissed, or made to feel small for showing up and trying to connect.
That is exactly why we are building these events the way we are.
Connections Night is about getting good people into the same room. Speed Dating is about creating a better environment to meet someone. Both come down to the same three things: energy, respect, and community.
This week gave me clarity on what I want these rooms to feel like. Welcoming. Positive. Social. Real. No weird energy. No disrespect. Nobody walking out feeling smaller than when they walked in. Just good people, good conversations, and a room that is easy to be part of.
That is the standard. And I am not willing to lower it.
The next two weeks are big. Connections Night. Speed Dating. More people, more momentum, more proof that this works.
We are not just hosting events. We are building the kind of rooms people actually want to be in.
Forward motion. Real connection. True North.
