Entering May
April did what it needed to do. It confirmed the base, made the momentum more visible, and set up what comes next.
From the outside, the last month may look sudden. It was not. The direction has been there since Onward Upward Sports began in September 2024. What has changed is that more of the right pieces are now reinforcing each other at the same time, with better alignment, better structure, and a stronger position for what comes next.
We continued to build around what is already working: sports and social events, connection nights, ladders, leagues, and programming people actually want to come back to. At the same time, the company kept getting stronger around that base. We continued building with the right partners around the business and we secured a major location for the launch of Impact Team Tennis at West Chester University.
On the personal side, April had momentum too. I had a successful 20-year high school reunion that brought together more than 200 people. Separate from the business, it still added to the energy of the month and was a reminder that strong environments, good people, and well-run gatherings matter.
The past month in particular, I have become more selective about what gets access to my attention, time, and energy. That has made me more effective, more grounded, and more appreciative of what is being built. It has also made it easier to separate what actually matters from what is simply noise. That clarity carries into business, leadership, and day-to-day life. It makes growth feel cleaner.
Going into May, the focus is straightforward: keep building on what is already working, keep the standards high, keep the direction clean, launch Impact Team Tennis the right way, and continue strengthening the company around the right relationships, structure, and opportunities.
Onward Upward Sports is in a much stronger position than it was even a month ago, more aligned, better supported, more focused, and more ready for what is next.
May is about compounding that.
