The Full Story: 2018 - 2025 | Onward, Upward, and Everything Between

Intro

Every person has a stretch of years that rewires who they are.
For me, it was 2018 through 2025, seven years that tested everything: health, family, money, relationships, and belief. I share this story not to relive it, but to show how momentum, once built, becomes unbreakable. If you’ve ever been stuck between obligation and purpose, this is how you turn that tension into direction.

2018 – 2019 | The Wake-Up

December 2018 cracked everything open.
A health scare stopped me long enough to see how far off my own path I’d drifted. At the same time, my mother was diagnosed with Parkinson’s. Overnight the house turned into triage, emotionally and physically. I was working full-time for someone else’s dream, barely covering bills, convincing myself that endurance was loyalty.

I promised myself I would give it five more years of stability, help my parents, and then rebuild my life. That promise became the quiet fuel that kept me showing up when I felt invisible. Looking back, those days taught me responsibility, but they also showed me how easy it is to confuse sacrifice with stagnation. Growth begins the moment you recognize the difference.

2020 – 2021 | The Freeze

Then came the pandemic.
Loss hit our family hard, and isolation magnified every crack that was already there. The world slowed down, yet inside I felt an urgency I couldn’t explain. I started noticing who kept moving when everything stopped. I began hearing about local business owners fighting to keep their lights on, leaders who are now partners in my work.

Those two years taught me to listen to my own instincts. When noise disappeared, truth got louder. That quiet became my first teacher in alignment.

2022 – 2023 | The Wait

By late 2022 I was rebuilding from the inside out. My body needed structure, my mind needed peace, and my spirit needed movement. I trained, lifted, boxed, ran, whatever helped burn through frustration and rebuild control.

That process became proof of what consistent motion can do. I went from 209 pounds in late 2022 to 185 by June 2023, and now, in November 2025, I sit steady at 165, a 44-pound transformation. Stronger. Leaner. Clearer. The numbers tell a physical story, but what changed most was mindset. Every drop of weight mirrored a release of pressure, fear, and expectation.

At home, expectations to stay small resurfaced. I was being asked to keep putting others first, even when it cost me myself. That pressure clarified everything. I realized support without boundaries isn’t support, it’s surrender.

Every workout, every late-night plan, every “no” to old patterns was preparation for what was coming next.

2024 | The Unlearning

2024 was the tension point.
It was the year I broke my own five-year rule (turned out to be six years), the one that had kept me anchored in the same dynamic, waiting for "the right time" to leave. Breaking that pattern was messy, but it was freedom earned.

That same year I met someone who challenged me in all the right ways. She called out what I already knew: that I was still living too small, still hiding in comfort zones. Dating her was confusing, raw, but necessary. It forced me to confront how much of my life had been lived for others. It was also the year I crossed a milestone that changed my understanding of intimacy and confidence. When it ended, I didn’t collapse, I leveled up and knew what I needed to do. Fucking leave corporate America and form my own dream.

The lessons from that relationship bled directly into my business life. I learned to separate emotion from execution and to build boundaries that protect progress. The stress at home, the breakup, and the push to claim independence all converged into one realization: growth demands risk. It all helped me grow.

Out of that friction, Onward Upward Digital Innovations LLC (legally known as Onward Upward Digital) was born in September 2024. The mission was clear, help others build what I was building internally: structure, visibility, and motion. I got back into boxing, rebuilt routine, and turned frustration into fuel.

By the end of the year, the first partnership was live, my brother and I had moved out, and West Chester officially became home, the birthplace of what would grow into a movement. The five-year rule had finally been broken for good.

2025 | The Real Beginning

This year was about arrival, not perfection, but presence.
Health scares came and went, yet each one reinforced perspective. Family dynamics shifted but steadied. The company scaled fast, anchored by partners who operate on integrity and performance.

And then came move-in day for year two (today, November 1, 2025). The place felt lighter, sharper, earned. As boxes emptied, old weight lifted. Someone from the past returned a shirt from the business’s early days, a small gesture that marked closure. It reminded me that growth often rewrites proximity; the closer you get to your purpose, the less space there is for what no longer aligns. The first year is officially behind me.

Helping with the move was T. Maxwell Junk Removal, led by a friend who originally entered my circle through a former contact and has become a genuine ally. That contrast said everything, some connections are meant for a season, others for the climb.

Now the apartment is almost finished. The systems are built. The foundation is stable. Every move from here is scale.

Looking Forward

From the chaos of 2018 to the clarity of 2025, every season demanded something different: endurance, humility, courage, precision. Together they formed the operating system that drives my life and my company now.

The through-line is simple:

  • Responsibility taught discipline.
  • Loss taught empathy.
  • Boundaries taught freedom.
  • Execution taught peace.

I’m home in West Chester, the birthplace of Onward Upward Digital, and this time, everything aligns: business, health, focus, and direction. The next phase isn’t about proving anything. It’s about scaling the proof that already exists.

Onward. Upward. Always.
